Late South African Rapper AKA’s Mass Country Album has been Certified Gold.

The rapper’s posthumous album Mass Country received a massive reception upon its release on the 24th of February 2023.
The Supa Mega could not live to witness the manifestation of his good work, but his ever-loyal fans “Megacy” took it upon themselves to make sure they make this project a monumental one. Two weeks after the album release, AKA’s Mass Country has been certified gold.

In its early days upon its release, the album was on course garnering big numbers on music streaming platforms. Mass Country managed to clock over 6 million Spotify streams hours upon its release.

Mass Country is AKA’s fourth album and the induction of several collaborations clearly proved that the slain rapper was more than a rapper. His self-evaluation of being a pop music powerhouse came to light in this project.

AKA set a broad net for his artistic and production team. Big-name SA rappers Khuli Chana, Blxckie, Emtee, Nadia Nakai, Nasty C, Sjava, Yanga Chief, Nigerian top-notch producer KDDO, and many more collaborated to create an anticipated symphony.

AKA died with his friend Tibz after they were gunned down in Durban, fans have embarked on a mission to put pressure on the police to find the killers of the two SA celebrities. The hashtag #JusticeForAKA has been the talk on social media platforms.

A peaceful march has also been organised on Friday 10th of March in Joburg. Tomorrow marks a month since AKA and his friend passed away and there haven’t been any suspects brought in by the police despite CCTV footage showing two people who were involved in the assassination.

Minister of police Bheki Cele has assured the public that progress is being made and the police force is all hands on deck gathering all the necessary evidence
