Priscilla Zawedde also known as AZAWI is set to drop an album. Quinamino, a song she dropped that has lasted on the Ugandan music media for months became a hit song.
The 24-year-old, who is signed to Swangz Avenue is not new to music and has featured on Eddy Kenzo’s song, Bibawo. Azawi has also written songs for artists like Eddy Kenzo, Vinka and Lydia Jazmine, Nina Roz just a few to mention. Her song Quinamino, produced by Kussein and Twisky LuoBoy means the feelings you have for someone you love.
She promised that 2020 will be a big year because she will also start work on her first album, which is currently unfamiliar. She has spent a lot of time in the studio cooking something that she went ahead and put on her Twitter account;
She was inspired to do music and dance years ago after frequently visiting the Ndere Cultural Centre to watch the dance festivals. She later on joined Kika Dance Troupe in 2005. After leaving Kika Dance Troupe, Azawi started singing in school with the help of a friend, and brother, who mentored her as a singer/songwriter.
During he journey as a songwriter, Azawi was discovered by Swangz Avenue, which led her to her victory thus releasing her first project; Five-track EP entitled “LO FIT”.
